Esperanza School is currently in the process of searching for a certified School Social Worker for the 2021-2022 school year with the possibility of starting this summer.
Esperanza Therapeutic Day School is part of a non-profit organization that provides individualized instruction for students with autism, intellectual disabilities, and developmental disabilities utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis and Structured Teaching. These approaches are used to develop academic, social, vocational, and life skills that help improve the students’ quality of life and help them reach their fullest potential as active members of their community.
Essential Function: A professional position with responsibilities in the area of planning and implementing the social service program of the school in order to enable students to benefit from the educational setting and provide direct and consultative social work services to those students as designated by the IEP goals. The social worker is responsible for assisting students and their families in connecting to and obtaining necessary resources and services from outside agencies within community.
