We want to thank everyone for their hard work, dedication, and continued support throughout this new and difficult phase of education.

We also want to thank our families and staff for their time in providing feedback in the last weeks, about the presented return-to-school options. We especially appreciate your honesty and openness, as you shared your concerns, questions, and fears with us – from safety to child care, and everything in between.

Throughout the pandemic, every decision has thoughtfully and purposely considered the needs, safety, and health of all students and staff. Keeping that in mind, our school and Esperanza leadership, with the support of our board of directors, have made the very difficult decision to start the 2020-2021 school year with 100% remote learning for all of our students. Our target date to implement a partial reopening under a hybrid model is at the end of the 1st quarter on November 2, 2020. We will continue to evaluate and monitor the conditions based on national, state, and local health recommendations, and update you with any new developments that will impact our staff and students and our return to in-person learning.

We understand this decision will be a relief for many staff and families, but will present challenges for others due to a variety of reasons. Our team is available to problem-solve with any staff that have outstanding issues related to remote learning, or are impacted negatively by our delayed in-person start this Fall. If you need any support, please feel free to reach out to us via email at esperanzaprincipal@gmail.com or via phone at 312-243-6097 ext. 153.

Thank you for your patience and continued understanding,
