We’ve gotten to see the incredible journey of Marcus, a young student whose life has been transformed thanks to the generosity of donors like you.
Six months ago, Marcus reached a critical point when his previous school, unable to manage his aggressive behavior, asked him to leave. Rebecca, now our Special Education Program Director, saw the underlying issue: “In reality, he just wasn’t being heard.”
At Esperanza, we provided Marcus with the tools he needed to express himself and manage his emotions, thanks to our dedicated behavioral team. Rebecca witnessed an incredible transformation: “A lot of his behavior stems from trauma, so it is awesome to see him blossom. I always knew his success was in there, but it is great to see him flourish.”
This past June, Marcus graduated to our transition program. With newfound coping skills, Marcus has been able to explore and develop his passion for fashion. Our next step is to connect him with a possible employer, enabling him to pursue his dreams and build a brighter future.
