WorkReady is Esperanza’s vocational and community-integration skill building program. Through a more challenging curriculum and a higher level of responsibility and independence, adults with developmental disabilities are building a solid foundation of job readiness skills. Currently, participants are graduates of the Coleridge Adult Day Program, having shown significant mastery of the general skills needed to find employment.
WorkReady currently operates on Esperanza’s campus, with the long-term goal of some participants finding off-campus work in the community. We are involving the local business community to ensure that WorkReady is teaching the skills that employers are looking for. We are initiating conversations with local businesses about the skills they are looking for in potential hires to both gauge their interest and ensure that we are helping participants build skills relevant to real-world job experiences.
